Professor Andrew Whinston has been identified as the most influential researcher in the field of management information systems in a study that measures the productivity and impact of published work by scientists and scholars.
Second-year MBA student, Erin Aldrich, who was a two-sport star as an undergraduate at UT, was inducted into the UT Women's Athletics Hall of Honor on Nov. 19. Aldrich was an All-American in the high-jump and volleyball and was the Big 12 Female Athlete of the Year in 1999-2000.

The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences awarded Professor Leon Lasdon the 2010 INFORMS Impact Prize. Lasdon and his co-winners developed of Microsoft’s Excel Solver, a general-purpose optimization modeling system that has become an industry standard in the last 20 years.
