McCombs celebrated academic excellence Friday, April 15 during the Honors Convocation ceremony, recognizing and honoring the achievements of undergraduate students and undergraduate faculty members.
14 McCombs faculty were honored at the MBA Applause Awards ceremony on Thursday, April 7, 2011 for their outstanding teaching skills.
Two MSTC students were part of a team that won the 2011 McGinnis Venture Competition at the Carnegie Mellon Tepper School of Business and the New Venture Championship held by the University of Oregon Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship.
A team of graduate students from McCombs and the College of Natural Sciences won top prize at the Wake Forest University Biotechnology Conference and Case Competition. They beat seven teams, including Harvard and MIT to win the $10,000 first prize.
The Texas Union has awarded their 2011 Pal - Make A Difference Award to Lauren Blitzer, MBA'11 for her creation of the McCombs Board Fellows Program, which places MBA students on non-profit boards.
A team of undergraduates took second place against a field of MBA teams at the 2010-11 CFA Investment Research Challenge-Texas Feb. 19 at Rice University.
