Daniel Laufer, MBA '94, Ph.D. '02
Daniel Laufer has accepted a senior level academic position with tenure at a major research university in the capital of New Zealand. He will officially join the business school faculty at Victoria University in Wellington in early 2012. Dr. Laufer is an expert in Crisis Management, and he also teaches executive seminars on the topic at leading business schools around the world.
Dr. Laufer's 2006 article together with Tim Coombs, "How should a company respond to a product harm crisis?" is among the most highly cited articles in a leading managerial journal "Business Horizons" (see http://www.journals.elsevier.com/business-horizons/most-cited-articles/ for list). Dr. Laufer's article provides guidance to practitioners in choosing the appropriate strategy to effectively deal with a product harm crisis.
Dr. Laufer will also be giving a Knowledge To Go Webinar for McCombs in March 2012 on the topic of Crisis Management, and the psychology of blame.
