McCombs Faculty Members Earn Promotions
Nine faculty members from the McCombs School of Business have been recognized with upgraded professional titles. The promotions take effect Sept. 1, 2017.
The University of Texas at Austin President Greg Fenves recommended a group of McCombs researchers and lecturers from the Departments of Information, Risk, and Operations Management (IROM), Business, Government, and Society (BGS), Finance, and Accounting for the promotions.
Promoted to professor
Bayesian statistics researcher Carlos Carvalho, associate professor of IROM, and market design researcher John Hatfield, associate professor of BGS, will be made professors.
Promoted to associate professor
Ashish Agarwal, assistant professor of IROM who has studied online search, Cesare Fracassi, assistant professor of Finance who has researched how analysts' biases impact bond ratings, Richard Lowery, assistant professor of Finance who has studied failed bank closures, and Tim Werner, assistant professor of BGS who has studied political contributions, will all become associate professors.
Promoted to distinguished senior lecturer
Teaching award winner Kelly Kamm, senior lecturer of Finance, will be named a distinguished senior lecturer.
Promoted to senior lecturer
Clint Tuttle, lecturer of IROM, and Kristina Zvinakis, lecturer of Accounting, will become senior lecturers.
