Waterfalls, Cliffs, and ‘Merlions’: Study Abroad Photo Contest Winners Share Images From their Travels
Undergraduate students at the McCombs School of Business return from their foreign studies with more than an expanded worldview. They also bring back some impressive images.
Below are the top three finishers from the fall 2016 BBA international programs photo contest.
"Falling for Croatia," taken by Sanjana Jhaveri, BBA '18, at Plitvice Lakes National Park while studying at the London School of Economics in summer 2016.
"After my six weeks studying in London, I went backpacking through Eastern Europe. The final stop of my trip was at Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia, a magical valley of 16 terraced lakes, laced together by waterfalls and miles and miles of stunning blue water. You can never exhaust Europe of its surprises."
"Frolicking through the Lion City," taken by Maddy Flores, BBA '17, while studying at the National University of Singapore in spring 2016.
"Having this backdrop in the middle of downtown while studying in Singapore was absolutely incredible. I was spoiled being so close to one of the most amazing hotels in the world as well as having 'merlions' watch over me throughout the country. This — coupled with people’s hospitality and the incredible food — made Singapore an unbelievable experience."
"Standing on the Edge of Glory," taken Josephine Thomas, BBA '17, in County Clare, Ireland, while studying at University of Limerick in spring 2016.
"The Cliffs of Moher are by far my favorite place on Earth. No photo can capture the beauty of the sudden 702-foot drop and the wild Atlantic. Ireland is an amazing country with wonderful people. Go visit and enjoy the craic."
