Faculty Recognized by Peers for Contributions in Teaching, Research

Eleven faculty members from the McCombs School of Business were recently recognized by the school for their contributions in teaching and research.    

On April 20, teaching and research awards were presented to faculty nominated by their department chairs and then selected by their McCombs peers. Awarded faculty came from the Management, Finance, Marketing, and Information, Risk, and Operations Management (IROM) departments.    

"Congratulations to all the nominees and thank you for your contributions to McCombs. Great faculty contribute to the success of our students and the superior reputation of our school," Dean Tom Gilligan said in an email announcing the awards.

The teaching awards were presented to:

Excellence in Education: Jim Fredrickson, chair and professor of management

Joe D. Beasley Award for MBA Teaching Excellence: Andres Almazan, professor of management

Hank & Mary Harkins Foundation Award for Effective Teaching in Undergraduate Classes: Clint Tuttle, lecturer in IROM

Trammell/CBA Foundation Teaching Award for Assistant Professors: Ty Henderson, assistant professor of marketing

Fawn & Vijay Mahajan Teaching Excellence Award for Executive Education: Ethan Burris, associate professor of management

Fred Moore Assistant Instructor Award for Teaching Excellence: (co-recipients) Gorkem Ozer, Ph.D. candidate in IROM, Shannon Rariden, Ph.D. candidate in management 

The research awards were presented to:
