BP Continues Support by Funding Undergraduate Scholarships
For the 2013-2014 academic year, BP will continue its BP Fellows Program with the McCombs School by providing support to fund eleven $5,000 scholarships for undergraduate business students. Two scholarships will be awarded to upcoming third or fourth year MPA students, seven to upcoming sophomores and/or juniors, and two to upcoming freshman, sophomores, and/or juniors who are active members in the Women’s Business Council.
BP's previous scholarship support to the McCombs School has benefited a diverse group of undergraduate and graduate students interested in pursuing careers in the energy industry. These scholarship offerings contributed to the McCombs School's ability to attract top students to the Undergraduate (BBA), Master in Professional Accounting (MPA), and Masters in Business Administration (MBA) programs. This year the BP Fellows at McCombs will focus on BBA and MPA students in order to align with BP's current recruiting strategy.
The McCombs School's partnership with BP directly supports Dean Gilligan's strategic plan, which has a major focus on energy. In addition, the collaboration will directly impact the caliber of the talent pool for BP's future workforce, raise awareness about career opportunities at BP, and enhance the brand of the company with McCombs students.
