5 Ways KPMG Helps Make McCombs Better

John VeihmeyerThe McCombs School is happy to welcome John Veihmeyer, chairman and CEO of KPMG, to campus for a series of meetings with faculty and students on April 2. KPMG is a frequent partner in McCombs activities. Here are some other initiatives around campus that have benefited from the company’s involvement.

Scholarship Funds
KPMG is a contributor to the Centennial Scholarship Fund. Last fall, KPMG representatives joined the Accounting Department’s 100-year celebration and participated in a special check presentation on the Longhorn football field with Bevo.

Student Programs
KPMG also supported the KPMG/ALPFA Case Competition where the Texas team reached the finals in Las Vegas, Nevada. Student participants Oscar Barbosa, Nakita Hariri, Edgar Ruiz and Jessenia Sosa thanked KPMG professionals for providing essential support as they crafted their presentation.

Student Recruiting
KPMG is a top student recruiter at the McCombs School. McCombs Today has written about many of their professionals over the years. Samantha Henry and Nathan Sowell are recent examples.

Classroom Speaking
Last fall, Steven Hill, vice chair - Strategic Investments, with KPMG spoke to students as an MPA Distinguished Speaker. Hill is a national innovation leader at KPMG, was recognized as a "Top 25 Consultant" by Consulting Magazine and is a former KPMG's Americas Region Advisory Services Leader.

Accounting Advisory Council
