Texas BBA 7th in 2013 U.S. News Rankings

The McCombs School of Business is 7th in U.S. News and World Report's rankingThe McCombs School of Business tied for 7th in the 2013 edition of U.S. News and World Report's undergraduate business program rankings. McCombs came in as the 4th best among the country's public schools. The University of Texas tied for 46th overall.

It marks the 14th year in a row that McCombs has ranked between 5th and 7th in the country.

The University of Pennsylvania topped the rankings, followed by MIT, Berkeley, and Michigan, with New York University and the University of Virginia in a tie for 5th place. McCombs tied for 7th with Carnegie Mellon University and the University of North Carolina.

McCombs and the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business have the most number of top-10 specialty rankings. In other words, no school in the country has more top-10 specialties than McCombs.

The Texas BBA program had four specialties place in the top five: 

  • Accounting: 1
  • Management Information Systems: 4
  • Marketing: 4
  • Insurance/Risk Management: 5

Other top-20 specialties:

  • Finance: 6
  • Management: 6 (tied)
  • Production/Operations: 7
  • Real Estate: 8
  • Entrepreneurship: 9
  • Quantitative Analysis: 9
  • International Business: 10 (tied)
  • Supply Chain/Logistics: 13

Very interesting to see that McCombs has a 9th ranked entrepreneurship specialty program....just graduated from there and neither my undergrad advisor nor any of my business professors knew anything about it....hmmmmmm......
