Shaun Kolnick, BBA '07, MPA '07, landed the ultimate wedding portrait when his bride convinced Miami Heat superstar and newly crowned NBA champion LeBron James to pose with the couple. James was conducting an interview with Sports Illustrated on June 23 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Coconut Grove, Fla., where Shaun and Jamie were set to marry the same day. 

The story and photo were picked up by Good Morning America, ABC News, the Huffington Post, Yahoo Sports and myriad other news outlets.

“I said, ‘LeBron, will you take a picture with me?’” Jamie Kolnick, nee Epstein, told Goodmorningamerica.com of the moment when she poked her head into the room where James was finishing an interview with a reporter from Sports Illustrated.

“A member of his crew said, ‘We’re still working, get out of here.  And I said, ‘I’m the bride,’ Kolnick, 26, said.  “They couldn’t find a way out, honestly, so they came through and said let’s take a picture and we get our money shot.”

Wedding photographer Cengiz Ozelsel with Adagion Studio, shot the impromptu portrait. A crowd of wedding guests also captured the moment on their own cameras and cell phones, and it didn't take long for the photo to go viral online. Ozelsel says he has been inundated with media recalls requesting a copy of the image.
