MBA Soccer Club Hosts Annual Tournament
The MBA Soccer Club held its 14th annual Texas Winter Classic Feb. 11-13. The classic is a soccer tournament featuring 24 teams from top business schools across the nation.
UCLA’s Anderson School of Management took home the top prize.
The tournament is well-known among business schools across the nation and is the largest of its kind.
“It serves as a recreational event for the MBA students to have fun and enjoy playing soccer,” said Meshari Albaqer, vice-president of the club. “It also gives the students an opportunity to communicate with other top business school students and alumni.”
Students also have the possibility to meet recruiters from tournament-sponsoring companies.
MBA Soccer Club is an MBA student organization founded to be a way for MBA students to participate in events, like pick-up matches, intramural and national MBA tournaments.
“Soccer is the most popular sport in the world,” said Albaqer. “That is reflected by the increasing number of members who sign up for our club every year.”
