Report Finds Surge of Diversity Among Incoming Freshmen
According to the preliminary enrollment report released after the 12th day of class, diversity among the student body and the number of students automatically admitted under the Top 10 percent law has increased since last year.
Total enrollment for the University increased by 1,084 students to a total of 51,032 — about a 2 percent increase from last year. The preliminary information was compiled by the Office of Information Management and Analysis, and the finalized information will be available after the 20th day of class in October.
Proportional representation for all ethnic groups increased for the whole University. But among incoming freshman, 20 fewer black students enrolled at UT compared to fall 2008. Click here to continue reading from The Daily Texas Online.
